Rachel's musical journey commenced with early piano lessons, yet her true passion became unmistakable the moment she picked up a flute at the age of 9. By the age of 14, Rachel had earned her Associate Diploma with Distinction in flute performance (AMEB), followed by the achievement of the Licentiate Diploma with Distinction the subsequent year. She won the Leslie Barklamb Award for that year, and was invited to perform solo at the AMEB Graduation Ceremony. After receiving her Fellowship of Music in Flute Performance with Trinity College London, she furthered her musical education by completing a Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium with flute teacher Virginia Taylor, where she actively participated in orchestral and chamber performances while achieving success in many competitions, including being a three-time winner of the James Carson Memorial Scholarship and a State Finalist in the 4MBS National Fine Music Network Young Virtuoso of the Year Award 2018.

Rachel enriched her artistic capabilities through the performance program at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) in Melbourne. Throughout her time at the Academy she received artistic instruction from many inspiring musicians including Michael Cox (Principal Flute, BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Academy of St Martins in the Fields), Denis Bouriakov (Principal Flute, Los Angeles Philharmonic), Prudence Davis (Principal Flute, MSO), Alison Mitchell (Principal Flute, QSO), Andrew Nicholson (Principal Flute, WASO), and Joshua Batty (Principal Flute, SSO). Her studies on piccolo were enhanced by lessons and masterclasses with Australia's most prominent piccolo players including Rosamund Plummer (Former Principal Piccolo, SSO), Andrew McLeod (Principal Piccolo, MSO), and Kate Lawson (Principal Piccolo, QSO).

Rachel's musical versatility is evident as she seamlessly transitions between roles as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer. She has performed with Orchestra Victoria, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Voces8, and worked alongside distinguished musicians such as Stefan Dohr, Denis Bouriakov, and Gábor Takács-Nagy. She performs regularly in small to large performance settings, and enjoys performing a wide variety of music for all audiences.

In addition to her passion for performance, Rachel has a great interest in music education. With years of experience teaching students of all ages and levels, she emphasises creativity, technical skill, and the importance of cultivating a love for music in every lesson. Rachel leverages her extensive knowledge and experience, acquired through performances and collaborations with renowned pedagogues and flautists, to deliver both inspirational and practical flute instruction to her students. Whether on the stage as a performer or in a studio engaging in one-on-one teaching, she is dedicated to sharing the beauty of music with others, believing that music is a cherished gift meant to be shared.
